WHISPERS OF WISDOM

WAIT FOR YOUR HARVESTING TIME (Sirach 11 :20-21)

What is your harvesting time? The scripture says, “Stand by your duty and stick at it; grow old at your work. Don’t be jealous of what sinners achieve; just stick to your own work, and trust the Lord. It is very easy for the Lord to make a poor person suddenly rich”. (Sirach  11:20-21)

So your waiting period depends on the type of crops you plant. Those who plant seasonal crops wait for a shorter time, while those who plant perennial crops wait for a longer time.

Those who plant seasonal crops sow every season and harvest once, because their crops are temporary. Meanwhile, those who plant perennial crops sow once, but harvest every season because their crops are permanent.

If you harvest your seasonal crops early, do not insult those who planted perennial crops and are still waiting to harvest. The fact that you harvest before them does not make you a better farmer. If you do, you may become ashame and envious when their perpetual harvest begins.

If you wait so long for your perennial crops to mature and bear, do not envy those who planted seasonal crops and are harvesting already. The fact that you will harvest after them does not make you a bad farmer. If you do, you may be tempted to mortgage your crops and, then, regret when the perpetual harvest begins.

So, if you value your crops, please, wait for the harvesting time to come. Then you will have wealth – and have peace with you forever!

They who have ears should hear and they who have eyes should see (Proverbs 20:12)– and, let the wise understand (Proverbs 10:8).
